One of the best places to find educational classes for new parents and parents-to-be, are the Richmond area hospitals and medical centers that have birthing centers. They offer classes on topics such as breastfeeding, labor and baby basics, infant CPR, having multiples, and hospital tours. Birth and Baby Kneads is Richmond's first and only free-standing, independent birth and baby center. Their goal is to educate, empower, inform and support women in their parenting journey. Commonwealth Parenting offers skills-based parent education programs designed to enhance specific parenting behaviors that have a direct impact on children. The parent education programs are designed for parents with children of all ages. The Welcome Home Baby class is designed for new-parents and parents to be. Programs are delivered during convenient hours for working parents, offer refreshments and handouts with specific techniques to try at home.
