DayCare
Finding the right daycare solution is one of the most important decisions a family makes. A valuable resource will be word of mouth references, but if you have to start from scratch, this link to the Virginia Department of Social Services database of licensed childcare, is a great place to start. Licensed childcare includes all daycare centers (except those exempted by law), family day homes and short-term child day centers (such as summer camps). Licensing ensures that the childcare provider is meeting minimum state standards for care, as well as background check guidelines (as determined by the state).
