DayCare

Finding the right daycare solution is one of the most important decisions a family makes.  A valuable resource will be word of mouth references, but if you have to start from scratch, this link to the Virginia Department of Social Services database of licensed childcare, is a great place to start.  Licensed childcare includes all daycare centers (except those exempted by law), family day homes and short-term child day centers (such as summer camps).  Licensing ensures that the childcare provider is meeting minimum state standards for care, as well as background check guidelines (as determined by the state).

Simply click on 'Children'  then 'Child Day Care'.  From there you can search for a facility.

The results of all Social Services inspections for licensed facilities, both scheduled and unannounced, are available for your review.  Simply click here for the link to search for those results and search for the childcare provider of your choice.
