Consignment stores are great places to shop for children’s clothes, shoes, toys, kiddie gear, equipment, and maternity wear.  Some of the best deals can be found when looking for infant clothes, toys for children two and under, costumes, and dancewear.   The most difficult thing about shopping in consignment stores, is that the inventory changes constantly, so there are no guarantees of what you will find.

A note about consigning – Many of these stores will give you cash and/or store credit for your items;  Others will sell the items for you and give you a percentage of the final sale price.   Some stores will buy only specific items during certain time periods and they may receive items by appointment only, or during specific store hours.  Be sure to call ahead before you go.

Goodwill Industries

Although not a true consignment store - consider shopping in one of the local Goodwill stores.  They often have children's toys, bikes and clothing.  Check their website for the store nearest you.
